"Spanish Lady" is from Malaga
Province, Andalucia, Southern Spain. She is a very elegant petite doll. Andalucia is a lovely unspoilt area replete
with white villages, friendly people and lashings of cultural attractions in the cities, towns and villages. Andalucia,
which has a moorish heritage, is also home of flamenco and bullfighting, which can be best enjoyed at the regionīs countless
ferias and romerias. The Moors were
a mixture of Berbers and Arabs who crossed into Spain from North Africa by the Straits of Gibraltar in the middle ages and
occupied the peninsula - which they called al Andalus - when they first landed in Tarifa and established one of the most sophisticated
civilisations of the time.
Mum found this special doll in the lovely Andalucian village of Mijas which
nestles high in the Sierra Mijas overlooking the mediterranean sea. We had a lovely holiday there in 2001. The streets are narrow and some are cobbled, the houses are white and the flowers are very colourful. The views down to the Mediterranean sea are breathtaking. Best of all are the Donkey
Taxis which give spins around the village.
